B2B Media moving to Multi-Platform Business Models

eMedia Vitals reports on the merger of American Business Media with UBM Tech.  UBM Tech which has traditionally served as a publisher of print trade pubs, has been aggressively working to evolve their business model to the digital world, and to be more oriented to branded publications for marketers.  ABM had the following to say about the merger:

Marketers need synthesis — smart solutions that merge technologies, capabilities and formats. That takes companies on the service side capable of (1) thinking multilaterally across information, media and technology, and (2) creating products and services that improve customers’ workflow.

This certainly validates their continue pivot towards marketing and brand publishing, as well as their interest in technology to facilitate that such as curation tools.
