“Curation is like building up good digital karma”
Mike of Single Grain Digital Marketing in San Francisco had some very interesting things to say about curation in his recent post “Our Top Secret Tactics and Resources For Curating Amazing Content”. A couple of things I’d like to highlight including:
-
“Curating great content that your audience can appreciate is like building up good digital karma.” Curation is a great way to give credit to the content authors that you most appreciate.
-
“I use Flipboard, Alltop.com, Feedly, Twitter lists, and. . ” Mike has a thorough process in place to find, curate and share content as part his curation efforts, however, it’s hardly an efficient approach. He needs to test drive a business grade curation platform like Curata to see how much more effective and efficient he could really be with curation.
-
Curation helps to “maintain the attention of your audience.” No doubt, it’s a great way to engage your audience as you’re working on your next big created piece.
- I like that he also mentions the importance of ethical curation. (more about ethical curation)
