Curation & SEO: Don’t upload too much content all at once
Posted in Best Practices By Content Curation Marketing On April 19, 2013
Matt Cutts from SEO wizard at Google recently revealed that creating too many pages all at once for a site can cause Google’s spam review team to flag the site as a spam site:
Cutts suggested that Google can handle and index even high volumes of digital content immediately, but if a site uploads thousands of pages overnight, the action may catch Google’s attention and lead to a manual review by the company’s spam team.
This won’t impact most curators for a few reasons. Most curators are incrementally adding a little content to their site everyday, and not thousands of pieces of content at once. Though this may accumulate to thousands of articles over years, it’s not something that happens overnight.
