Hear from the Pros: 21 Quick Tips for Better Blogging
What would you do if you had the opportunity to hear from 20 of the worlds most popular bloggers and online marketers all in one place? Lucky for you, Dave Lane, from Verve did just that and now he’s sharing with us 21 of the greatest blog writing tips. Lane asked each expert the same question: “What blog writing tips would you give to any aspiring blogger?” Each expert gave their own unique answer, but one of my favorites was from Mike Sansone, who said to provide plenty of “eye rests.”
When writing for the web, provide plenty of “eye rests”. Simply, format your writing with:
• Bold phrases (key points you want remembered)
• Images (enhancing the story)
• Short listsBy formatting your posts this way, even if your reader is quickly skimming and scrolling, they will pick up some of the value of your work and perhaps, slow down to intake the whole article. It’s also easier to share a post formatted with these eye rests.”
Want to hear what the other experts said? Read the rest of Lane’s article, and don’t skip the end, as Rand Fishkin from Moz provides one tip you won’t want to miss.
