The Pitfalls of Bad Content Curation Tools

Lin Grensing-Pophal writes in EContentMag about a PR Firm principal’s bad experience with content curation tools.  Specifically based on the article, it appears that this individual was referring to paper.li.  In reality, paper.li is not a content curation tool because there is no curation element.  Rather is an aggregation tool with no facility for a human touch:

She explained to him that the content was automatically scraped and included based on keywords. Going back to check the newsletter he couldn’t even find which story had been referenced as a new version had already been generated.

Unfortunately the author of this article confuses content curation tools with so-called curation tools such as paper.li which are instead aggregation tools.
