Curated content plays a strong role early in the buying a cycle

A recent MarketingProfs article based on an IDG report provides a framework for what types of content play a strong role at each stage in the buying cycle. Not surprisingly, curated content that provide a general overview, along with news content plays a strong role as buyers decide to move forward or not early in the buying process:
Early in the purchase process, when determining business need and technical requirements, ITDMs rank content such as feature articles, technology news stories, how-to articles, and whitepapers as most important.
Here ITDMs stands for information technology decision-makers. While this article pertains to IT buyers, there's no reason why the role of top of the funnel curated content does not also play a identical role for other industries and buyers.
