These two concepts go hand-in-hand.
According to Wikipedia, a thought leader is “recognized for innovative ideas and demonstrates the confidence to promote or share those ideas as actionable distilled insights.” Positioning yourself as a thought leader in your industry can be a significant factor in online marketing success - and social media is one of the best mediums for demonstrating it.
Here are a few ideas for cultivating a reputation as a thought leader via social media:
- Contextualize current events in your industry
This is a great way to connect your brand to consumers and encourage them to view you as a source of valuable and timely information.
- Use humor, struggle, maybe even a little romance
Add a human element so customers find them more relatable.
- Share the personal side of your organizations
Publish images, text and video of real team members, or even customers and their tales of enthusiasm for your brand.
- Create an indispensable reference
For example, write a list of 50 problems your products or services address.
- Honesty is the best policy
Reveal misfortunes and struggles, and how they were solved which discloses how your company has grown.
By leveraging the ideas listed above you will help your brand build trust and inspire confidence. Remember, there are no shortcuts for establishing credibility and emerging as a thought leader; it takes the right blend of time, strategy and a quality curation solution.
