    1. Talking about yourself too much generally does not create high engagement. Brands and companies also, should not be too over-promotional when doing content marketing, and curating content.

      The business purpose is to create an audience first, then prospects as a follow on. You want, as a content curator, to create the equivalent of a hit TV show, not an effective commercial, though there is a clear business reason to create effective commercials.

      But commercials only work when there is an audience first.
