  1. OMS Q&A #1

Question: "Working for a non-profit I want to establish great credibility. Would it not be advisable to have a credible "competitor" as a fan on my Facebook page?"

Answer: Online leadership is not about competition, it's about relevance and recurrence. If a competitor is your fan on facebook, this will not damage your credibility. In fact, we believe that including the discussions surrounding your competition adds to your value as an un-biased information provider. Content is content; your competition is trying to develop an online presence just as you are. If prospects are truly interested in your industry, they will find your competition. Don't worry about them, focus on delivering relevant, recurrent, and un-biased content. Prospects will respect you for it.
